Radiesse is a dermal filler that is made up of calcium based microspheres and a water-based gel. The calcium in the product works with your skin to stimulate the growth of natural collagen. The collagen rebuilds the skins foundation and restores the elasticity of the skin producing a natural youthful look. A topical cream will be used to minimize pain or discomfort before and after the treatment.
Areas of Use
Due to the thickness of Radiesse it is not used to treat all areas of the face; such as around the eyes or lips. It is commonly used for cheek augmentations to add volume and structure to the face. It has been FDA approved to treat moderate to severe wrinkles and nasolabial folds (the creases that run from the bottom of your nose to the corners of the mouth).
Kimberly Bisogno talks about Radiesse
Any treatment using Radiesse is minimally invasive and essentially has no down time. Some patients may experience some swelling at the injection site and very minor bruising; this may last 7 to 10 days.
Duration of the Effect
Results are not immediate; Radiesse treatments must be done in 2-3 sessions over a 6 to 8 week period in order to maximize effects. The treatments may last anywhere from 18 months to 2 years. However results may vary depending on the injection site and the patients skin type.
