What is Restylane?
Restylane is a dermal filler that contains Hyaluronic Acid. Hyaluronic Acid is a natural substance produced in the skin that binds easily to water. Once injected into the skin, it attracts water to the soft tissue providing volume and fullness to the face. They fill the face by replacing lost volume and restoring youthful contours. This smooths the wrinkles and folds to produce a natural appearance.
Restylane-L also contains lidocaine to help reduce any discomfort or pain during and after the treatment. Restylane provides immediate natural results after treatment.
Restylane Areas of Use
Restylane is a facial filler that can be used in most areas of the face. The most common uses of the product are for:
- Nasolabial folds (the creases that run from the bottom of your nose to the corners of the mouth)
- Tear troughs (dark shadows under the eyes)
- Lower lines of the face
- Lip augmentation.
Restylane is an FDA approved product for lip augmentation. It can also be used to rejuvenate the earlobes by adding volume and strength to the earlobes in order to prevent sagging and hanging when wearing earrings. It can be used to restore volume and eliminate shadows and hollowness of the face, producing a refreshed natural result.
Recovery After Restylane Treatment
Any treatment using Restylane is minimally invasive and has essentially no recovery period. Some patients may experience some swelling at the injection site and very minor bruising; this may last 7 to 10 days.
How long do Restylane Results last?
The results of a Restylane treatment may last anywhere from 6 to 9 months. However results may vary depending on the injection site and the patients skin type. The product can last up to 2 years if the treatments are done in sessions.
