Sculptra®
What is Sculptra?
Sculptra is a dermal filler that contains Poly-L Lactic Acid. The Poly-L Lactic Acid replaces collagen in the skin that has been lost throughout the years. It also stimulates the growth of natural collagen gradually increasing the thickness of the skin. Sculptra restores collagen in the skin giving it a youthful more natural look and minimizing the appearance of lines and wrinkles. A topical cream will be used to minimize pain and discomfort before and after the treatment.
What To Expect During Sculptra
How does Sculptra work?
Sculptra has been FDA approved to restore lost volume in the face. However, it is not used to treat all areas of the face; such as around the eyes or lips.
What Sculptra Corrects
Sculptra is commonly used for cheek augmentations to add volume and structure to the face. It can also be used to help soften the lines of nasolabial folds (the creases that run from the bottom of your nose to the corners of the mouth).
Does Sculptra have any downtime?
Any treatment using Sculptra is minimally invasive and essentially has no down time. Some patients may experience some swelling at the injection site and very minor bruising; this may last 7 to 10 days.
When will i start seeing results?
Results are not immediate; Sculptra treatments must be done in 2-3 sessions over a 6 to 8 week period in order to maximize effects. The treatments may last anywhere from 18 months to 2 years. However results may vary depending on the injection site and the patients skin type.
