What is NeoGraft®?
Follicular unit extraction, or FUE, is a hair restoration technique that involves using grafts of hair from the back of the scalp. The approach has been used for many decades, yet it does not meet the expectations of many men and women. NeoGraft® offers the advantages of FUE while addressing the downsides of traditional FUE. NeoGraft® is an automated system that removes donor hair from the back of the scalp in grafts that contain up to four individual hairs.
Who is an Ideal Candidate for NeoGraft®?
NeoGraft® is preferred by men and women who want:
- Short recovery times
- No scars in the donor site
- Hair transplantation for shorter haircuts
- To reduce the appearance of scars from previous FUE procedures
Other considerations for the procedure are being in good health and having adequate donor hair.
Benefits of NeoGraft® Hair Transplant
- Minimally-invasive technique
- No incisions or scarring
- Less discomfort that other FUE techniques
- Recovery takes only a few days
- Maintains natural hairline in the donor site
- Perfect for men and women
How Does NeoGraft® Hair Transplant Work?
One of the advantages of the NeoGraft® automated transplant system is that the grafts are not damaged during the extraction process. For our hair transplant patients, fewer extractions are needed to restore the treatment area. It also shortens the procedure time, as the grafts require less preparation.
The NeoGraft® Hair Transplant Procedure
You do not need to have short hair prior to your NeoGraft® procedure. If you normally wear your hair long, we will shave an area that can camouflaged after the procedure. The donor and implants areas are numbed before the procedure. The NeoGraft® device is used to slide hair grafts from the scalp in the donor area. The grafts are then implanted in the treatment area in a manner that mimics your natural hair growth pattern.
How Many Treatments Will I Need?
We recommend that you have the initial treatment and a follow-up to check your progress. We may recommend a second treatment to fill in any areas where hair is not growing.
Are Results Permanent?
NeoGraft® is considered a permanent hair restoration procedure, but your hair will continue to follow a natural growth cycle. You will shed hair and regrow it, and you may experience some balding and thinning in the area where the grafts were implanted.
Does the Treatment Hurt?
Your scalp is numb during the procedure. Most patients remain comfortable during the NeoGraft® treatment.
NeoGraft Side Effects
Your scalp may feel tender after the procedure, and you may have some swelling. Non-prescription pain medications can help with any discomfort. The hair will shed naturally, and new growth begins in approximately three to four months.
