Micro-Needling

Micro-Needling

Micro-Needling, known as Collagen Induction Therapy (CIT),

Micro-Needling is a safe and effective procedure that uses an electric needling device to stimulate the production of elastin and collagen in your skin. The treatment works by breaking down old scar tissue to promote the rapid growth of new skin cells. Micro needling is a simple and easy procedure that can help make the aging process a lot smoother. The ultimate goal of this treatment is to improve the overall appearance of your skin by reducing the noticeable signs of aging.

Micro-Needling involves the use of tiny needles to create micro-channels in the skin. Those micro-channels induce the rush of growth factors to help produce your own collagen and elastin. The production of new collagen will reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles as well as sun damage, acne scars, and even stretch marks!

Benefits of Micro-Needling

The purpose of micro needling is to stimulate your body’s natural elastin and collagen compounds in order to enhance the overall texture of your skin. One of the primary benefits of micro needling is that the procedure can provide you with a refreshed and natural appearance without surgery. Additional benefits of micro-needling include:

  • Reduces fine lines, wrinkles, stretched pores, scar tissue, and even cellulite.
  • Causes very little pain or discomfort.
  • Does not leave scars.
  • Increases the skin’s natural hydration with the use of Hyaluronic Acid.
  • Requires a minimum amount of downtime, usually 1-2 days.
  • Suitable for both men and women.

Micro-Needling is not exclusive to the face, because imperfections do not happen on just the face. This service can be performed anywhere on the body that you may have scars, stretchmarks, and even cellulite!

Why do scars and stretchmarks happen?

When trauma is caused to the skin, whether it be a scrape, cut, or your skin stretching beyond it’s means, your skin goes through three stages of repair. The final stage, known as the maturation stage, is when the collagen starts producing to fill in the gaps that were created in the initial trauma. Often times, the trauma could be more than what the skin can fix on its own, or the maturation stage just doesn’t complete properly. Thus, scar tissue is formed and we’re left with stretch marks and unsightly scars. Now there’s a simple treatment for it!

What should I expect during and after treatment?

The procedure is performed by a trained technician. Your technician will first cleanse your skin in order to prevent any bacteria from getting into your newly created micro-channels. Next, they will need to generously apply the enriched hyaluronic acid based serum to your skin. This serum is then needled into the skin and will provide an extra boost to your skin’s natural healing process. Once the procedure is completed, you may experience redness and minor swelling for the next 24 to 48 hours, which will subside on its own. It is important to not use any harsh cleansers or chemicals on your face following the treatment. You may be instructed to not cleanse your face the night after your procedure, but may gently cleanse
